Tube Tech announced the launch of its most advanced system to date, the Mark 7 rover for heaters. This automated system, capable of removing more than 90% of the fouling in the convection section remotely, has been developed in-house at its R&D facility in Rayleigh, UK and holds two patents.
The functionality of the Mark 7 rover
In addition, the Mark 7 rover is distinguished by its ability to automatically travel over intermediate tube support plates and along tubes, reducing the need for multiple access points and improving its ability to clean hard-to-reach areas. This key feature allows the system to clean more areas in less time.

Live streaming of high-definition images provides technicians with real-time feedback from inside the convection bench, giving an accurate representation of its status and any areas of concern. Images and videos are also used for reporting and analysis.
Derek Sumsion, R&D Manager, commented on the development of the technology, noting that the Mark 7 rover has been designed to be the safest, most effective and intelligent system on the market, capable of restoring the efficiency of the convection section to design standards. Inclusion in the IGS solutions portfolio has provided access to a broader spectrum of advanced technologies and expertise, which has made the development of this system possible.
The Mark 7 rover returns the convection sections of the heaters to their original design thermal efficiency, regardless of the level or type of fouling, dramatically reducing the CO2 emissions.
