The Búzios field, in ultra-deep waters of the Brazilian pre-salt, has just registered a daily production of 1 million barrels of oil. This is a new high for the field operated by Petrobras, which is already positioned as one of the most productive in the world.
Petrobras reaches historic record in offshore production
This result was achieved through six operating units, including the Almirante Tamandaré platform, considered the largest installed capacity in the country. The achievement surpasses the last record of the field, registered in August with 900 thousand barrels per day, and consolidates Búzios as the second asset of the Brazilian state-owned company to surpass the one million mark, after Tupi.

Innovation and partnerships drive energy development
The Búzios 7 project, which integrates subsea infrastructure such as pipelines and wells, was recently honored at the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in Brazil. Among the innovations recognized are the closed flare, which reduces emissions, and the heat recovery system that optimizes energy consumption.
Petrobras is leading this development in consortium with Chinese companies CNOOC and CNPC, in addition to the state-owned PPSA. The combination of advanced technology, efficient management, and significant reserves make Búzios a strategic engine for the country’s energy future.
