From Houston, Texas during the ASNT 2023 annual conference, Richard Blaser from Inspenet had the pleasure of interviewing Andrew Daunis, Electromechanical Assembler of KIMTRON INC, a well known name in X-Ray equipment manufacturing.
Drew proudly shared the breadth of products KIMTRON offers. From high voltage power supplies, X-RAY tube coolers, alarm boxes to other essential X-RAY equipment. "We build everything to meet the needs of the NDT world" he said.
The 8-kilowatt generator, with its 10-kilowatt power supply, was one of the jewels presented by KIMTRON. Capable of powering a 160 X-RAY tube, this generator is testament to a commitment to quality and robustness. "That's the name of our game" Drew emphasized. "Every component, from the cables to the circuit boards, is made in America."
The innovation doesn't stop there. Drew showed us his dual-output cooler, capable of cooling two 6-kilowatt tubes simultaneously. "A real beast" as he described it, this equipment features a 10 thousand CFM fan.
Although components are manufactured in Illinois, KIMTRON's headquarters are in Connecticut. "All of our materials are U.S.-sourced and we assemble everything here," Drew noted.
Concluding the conversation, Drew underscored KIMTRON's enthusiasm for understanding and adapting to industry needs. "We're always happy to chat with people," he said.
