In northwest China, the CH-YH1000 unmanned cargo drone completed its test flight, ushering in a new era for the aerial freight transport. Designed for logistics tasks at medium altitudes, this drone incorporates technology already used in previous models of the CH series, improving its electronic endurance and maneuverability in complex environments.
A cargo drone with capacity, range and adaptability
With a payload of 1,200 kg and an autonomy of 10 hours, the CH-YH1000 can carry up to four 1 m3 pallets. Its design includes a front-loading interface and a lower compartment for airdrops, allowing flexibility in operations. It has an operational range of 1,500 km and a flight ceiling of 8,000 meters.

Liaison between cities and isolated regions
The main objective of this aircraft is to create low-cost transport routes between urban centers and remote locations. Regions such as Xinjiang and Xizang, traditionally affected by high shipping costs and long delivery times, could directly benefit from this technology.
One project engineer likened the CH-YH1000 to an “aerial pickup truck,” emphasizing its practical role in contexts where ground infrastructure is limited. The ability to perform multiple flights per day thanks to its fast loading and unloading system reinforces its operational value.
In addition to logistics, the CH-YH1000 has an internal 6-kilowatt power system that allows for the incorporation of specialized mission equipment. This makes it a viable platform for applications such as environmental monitoring, emergency response or surveillance in border regions.
The first official flight represents a firm step in expanding the use of unmanned aircraft for commercial and strategic purposes, in line with China’s growing investment in autonomous technologies to strengthen its domestic logistics network.
