The technology company Sigenergy has launched a 20 MWh storage system in Malko Tarnovo, Bulgaria. This deployment was completed in just 10 days, without the need for cranes or complex foundations. Possessing a lightweight, stackable design, each 240 kWh SigenStack unit could be installed efficiently and quickly.

The installed system includes 90 SigenStack battery units and has been designed to provide stable operation, even under varying load conditions. In addition, its modular architecture allows it to be adapted to different needs, from commercial applications to virtual power plants. Such flexibility has been essential to its rapid adoption in markets such as Ireland, Australia and South Africa.

Qurrent “s Fredric Anderberg praised the system ” s performance in virtual plants (VPP). He also highlighted its ability to quickly connect to the grid and maintain high performance in real time. Bartłomiej Majsik, from Gaia Solar, mentioned that the system’s integrated artificial intelligencehas the ability to optimize consumption according to dynamic pricing and generate significant savings.
From Trakia MT, its CEO Galina Peycheva-Miteva praised the efficiency of the deployment and confirmed her company’s interest in expanding collaboration with the company. The Bulgarian National Control Center also recognized the system’s potential as a key tool for addressing the growth of renewables.
