Plug Power Inc.. has renewed and expanded its collaboration with a long-standing industrial partner in the United States to guarantee the supply of liquid hydrogen until 2030. This agreement ensures a continuous supply for its operating network, reduces the cost structure and improves the efficiency of its distribution system.
According to the company, this is a measure aligned with its growth strategy in the clean energy solutions market.
[post_relacionado]The company already operates facilities in Georgia, Tennessee and Louisiana, with a combined capacity of 40 tons per day of liquid hydrogen. This year it plans to launch more than 40 new refueling sites, significantly increasing its presence and coverage. This strategy responds to increased demand in sectors such as logistics, manufacturing and electric mobility, where Plug Power already serves more than 275 hydrogen-fueling facilities.
Profitability and efficiency at the core of Plug Power
While the new contract strengthens access to the critical input, it also implies an immediate cost reduction. This is integrated into the “Project Quantum Leap“, an internal Plug Power initiative focused on improving cash flow and optimizing its operating model. CEO Andy Marsh stressed that reliability of supply is vital to meet demand and ensure sustainable margins.
This announcement comes against a backdrop of legislative support for clean hydrogen in the United States, which gives impetus to infrastructure projects and favors investment in renewable energies. With strategic alliances such as this one, the company seeks to strengthen its role in the energy transition and contribute to the development of a national economy based on competitive and widely available hydrogen.
