Canadian miner Luca Mining has released the first results from its Phase 1 drill program at the Campo Morado mine, Guerrero, with a 15.1 meter intercept showing 5.35 g/t gold, 187.5 g/t silver and 8.39% zinc. This find is from drill hole CM-RF-25-001, drilled in the heart of the Reforma deposit.
The Phase 1 program contemplates 5,000 meters of subway drilling and 2,500 meters of surface drilling. To date, 22 subway drill holes have been completed, yielding intersections such as hole CMUG-25-015 with 11 meters of 7.6 g/t AuEq. Drilling is targeting areas close to current mine workings but also covers unexplored regions.

The last exploration at these orebodies dated back to 2010 but their re-evaluation now coincides with record gold prices. This represents an opportunity to diversify Campo Morado’s traditionally zinc-oriented production profile.
The results obtained will contribute to an updated mineral resource estimate. In addition to gold and silver, copper, lead and zinc mineralization has been detected. The extension of mineralization in the Reforma, Largo and C277 zones could lead to the incorporation of new orebodies to the mining plan in the short and medium term.
With a geological database that includes more than 600,000 meters of historical drilling and 38 identified priority targets, Campo Morado is emerging as one of the areas with the greatest potential for polymetallic exploration in the region.
