Petrobras announced the departure of the FPSO P-78 from Seatrium’s Benoi shipyard in Singapore to the Búzios field, located 180 km off the coast of Rio de Janeiro in ultra-deep waters of up to 2100 meters, in the offshore region of the Santos Basin.
This platform vessel, towed with crew on board, will allow for earlier commissioning and training of equipment during the voyage, significantly reducing the time between arrival and the start of oil extraction. oil extractionThe platform vessel is scheduled for December 2025.

The project contemplates 13 interconnected wells: six producers (two of them convertible to injectors), six WAG injectors and one gas injector, using rigid pipelines for production, injection and export of gas, in addition to flexible pipelines for service lines and gas lift.
The P-78 hull was built and integrated at shipyards in Yantai and Hayang (China) and Ulsan (South Korea), while the deck modules were assembled in Brazil, China and Singapore, reflecting the international magnitude of this undertaking.
Petrobras executives emphasized that meeting the schedule strengthens the state-owned company’s position as operator of the largest producing oil field in deep waters of the Brazilian pre-salt, guaranteeing high safety and efficiency standards. The P-78 will soon join the fleet already operating in Búzios.
