BP has broken ground on the 134 megawatt DC (107MWac) Arche solar project in Fulton County, Ohio, USA. Upon reaching its highest capacity, Arche’s renewable energy would avoid 155,900 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions per year.
[post_relacionado]The project will create about 200 jobs throughout the supply chain during construction and provide more than $30 million in revenue that would benefit local schools and public services.
“This deal shows how businesses can create jobs, invest in the US economy, and reduce carbon emissions at the same time. It is another example of bp partnering to accelerate change and become an integrated energy company, one that can help corporations, countries and cities decarbonise,” explained Dave Lawler, President of bp America.
Additionally, bp has secured a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Meta for the solar project, bringing together two large corporations to address greenhouse gas emissions and support the growth of renewable energy in the US. Once completed, Arche will generate enough clean energy annually to power the equivalent of more than 20,000 homes.
