With the weather conditions on their side, Ocean Winds teams made precise progress in the assembly of the second floating wind turbine of the EFGL pilot farm at Port-La Nouvelle.
Mast and gondola assembly work
This process included the placement of the three mast segments and the nacelle on the floating base, work carried out in close coordination with Vestas, the wind turbine manufacturer, Euroports and its subcontractor Mammoet, while Eiffage Métal provided support in ballasting operations.
[post_relacionado]For this purpose, each mast segment, between 25 and 35 meters high and weighing approximately 600 tons, was lifted by the Mammoet crane. Terex DG Demag CC 8800-1which reaches a height of more than 145 meters. Subsequently, the 380-ton gondola was erected at a height of more than 104 meters on top of the structure.
Final preparations for the floating wind turbine
In addition, the next stage will consist of integrating the three blades, each 80 meters long and weighing 34 tons, into the gondola. This maneuver can be safely observed from the information point located on the Place Paul Valéry in Port-La Nouvelle.
