Renowned Norwegian shipyard Ulstein Verft has taken a crucial step in building the first CSOV SX222 vessel equipped with TWIN X-STERN technology for BS Offshore. This achievement represents a significant step forward in the offshore wind industry, where efficiency and sustainability are paramount.
The hull of the SX222, designed and built in collaboration with companies from the Ulstein Group in Poland, is already at the shipyard docks. This vessel is distinguished by its innovative architecture and superior operational performance, ensuring safe and efficient operations in demanding environments . In addition, its ability to use methanol as fuel and its diesel-electric propulsion system with battery storage reflect a commitment to reducing emissions.

Notable features include a 3D-compensated crane and a Walk-to-Work gangway, designed for safe and precise transfers to offshore wind turbines .
Matthias Müller, Managing Director of BS Offshore, expressed his confidence that the SX222 will set new standards for reliability and operability in the industry. This vessel follows the success of previous models, having demonstrated record-breaking consumptions in dynamic positioning and a reduced environmental impact. Final delivery is scheduled for summer 2025.
