Seatrium Limited has secured a contract with Penta-Ocean Construction ( POC ), Japan’s leading marine construction company, to design, procure and build a heavy-lift vessel equipped with a 5,000-tonne jib crane.
The fifth heavy-lift ship in a growing fleet
The new vessel will join POC’s fleet as its largest and most advanced vessel. This strategic step will enable POC to tackle larger offshore projects and strengthen its leadership in renewable energy. Currently, its fleet includes self-propelled dredgers and installation vessels with lifting capacities of up to 1,600 tons.

For his part, Tetsunori Ohshimo, Senior Managing Director of POC , stressed that the vessel will be essential to meet the demands of new generations of wind turbines, contributing to the advancement of the offshore sector and a more sustainable energy future in Japan.
With a global network of shipyards and technology centres in countries such as Singapore, Norway and Brazil, the company has established itself as a benchmark in the construction of specialised vessels and sustainable and efficient platforms.
