Chile presented its first hydrogen bus , an initiative driven by a public-private alliance involving Colbún, Anglo American, Reborn Electric Motors, Fundación Chile and the National Pilotage Center. This innovative project has the support of Corfo, the Corporation for the Promotion of Production, which contributed through the Corfo Crea y Valida program, aimed at promoting the development of innovative products and processes.
A project supported by innovation and investment
With a total investment of over 800 million pesos , the project seeks to transform transportation in Chile, mainly in the mining sector, by incorporating hydrogen technology in vehicles that operate in extreme conditions. At the presentation ceremony, which was attended by President Gabriel Boric and several key ministers, the commitment to the development of clean energy and the positive impact on the environment was highlighted.
Features of the new hydrogen bus
[post_relacionado]The new eco-friendly bus has a capacity for 24 passengers and an impressive range of up to 600 km . In addition, its maximum speed reaches 90 km/h, making it ideal for industrial and urban environments. Equipped with a system that combines hydrogen and electric batteries , the bus promises to be a key piece in the transition towards sustainable transport.

The testing phase will begin in 2025, and will be carried out in various test runs, demonstrations in communities and educational institutions. With this step, Chile positions itself as a leader in technological innovation in mobility within the region, consolidating its commitment to renewable energy that is advancing steadily towards the future.
