Investment for the production of sodium ion batteries
Natron has invested more than $40 million to upgrade and convert existing facilities, with $19.8 million in support from ARPA-E through the SCALEUP program. The Holland plant, which is projected to produce 600 MW of sodium-ion batteries annually , is expected to significantly boost the commercialization of Natron’s technology and bolster clean energy manufacturing in the region.
During the ceremony, Evelyn N. Wang of ARPA-E praised the project: “ This facility will not only transform the US energy infrastructure, but also reaffirms our global leadership in sodium-ion battery technology .”
