The marine engineering group, Seatrium Limited, has been selected by Norwegian operator Höegh Evi to lead the conversion of the LNG carrier Hoegh Gandria into a floating storage and regasification unit(FSRU), a project that will consolidate its presence in the international energy sector.

This contract was recently awarded and covers the integral modification of the Hoegh Gandria liquefied natural gas(LNG) transporter. This process includes the installation of a regasification module, together with the integration of cargo handling, auxiliary, electrical and automation systems. The technical intervention will also extend the vessel’s useful life.
[post_relacionado]All engineering work is scheduled to begin in May 2025, with an estimated duration of 18 months. Once completed, the converted vessel will be deployed at the LNG terminal in the port of Sumed, Egypt, under a lease agreement between Höegh Evi and the Egyptian state-owned company EGAS.
On the other hand, specialized in floating energy solutions with more than five decades of experience, this alliance represents the continuity of a strategic relationship. The company operates one of the largest fleets of FSRUs worldwide and seeks to strengthen its proposals for the energy transition with floating ammonia and hydrogen terminals.
Since 2007, the company Seatrium has successfully delivered 20 FSRU/FSU conversion projects, consolidating its leading role as a specialist in offshore engineering.
