Seaspan Energy and Anew Climate have signed a strategic agreement to bring the supply of renewable liquefied natural gas(R-LNG) to customers on the West Coast of North America. The initiative seeks to expand access to low-emission, ISCC-certified marine fuels, reinforcing the maritime sector’s commitment to international sustainability regulations.
The use of renewable LNG in future projects
As part of the agreement, Anew Climate will provide renewable natural gas certified under the ISCC standard, complying with guidelines such as the IMO ‘s Net Zero Emissions Framework and the European Union’s FuelEU Maritime Regulation. In addition, it will provide Seaspan with the pre-audit services required to obtain and maintain ISCC certification.
