Rolls-Royce SMR has reached a strategic agreement with Siemens Energy , consolidating its position as its global partner for the development of turbine systems that will power a fleet of small modular reactors ( SMR ). This collaborative agreement seeks to create a new generation of low-cost, zero-emission nuclear power plants.
An alliance between Rolls-Royce SMR and Siemens Energy
The agreement means that Siemens Energy provide steam turbine technologies for SMR plants , a key component in nuclear electricity generation. The company’s expertise will enable improved infrastructure and manufacturing in the UK. This partnership aims to strengthen the nuclear energy market, minimising risks and accelerating the deployment of SMR technology.

The deployment of the small modular reactors will deliver energy solutions globally, from the UK to the Czech Republic and Sweden. Rolls-Royce SMR anticipates that its innovative approach will power one million homes with stable, clean energy for more than 60 years, while creating thousands of jobs in manufacturing and operations.
We are currently experiencing a global renaissance of nuclear energy. Many countries are turning to nuclear technology to produce emissions-free electricity, and small modular reactors will play a key role in this process.
