The University of Plymouth has signed a contract with Robosys Automation to implement an integrated solution for advanced maritime autonomy on unmanned surface vehicles(USVs).
VOYAGER AI technology and advanced maritime autonomy
This project will be based on Robosys‘ VOYAGER AI system, an artificial intelligence platform designed to convert any motorized vessel into an autonomous unit. This technology enables independent navigation, avoiding collisions, optimizing routes and complying with COLREGS standards for maritime safety.

With more than 18,000 students, the British institution seeks to integrate these technologies into training programs linked to the autonomy and operation of intelligent marine platforms.
Robosys technology includes grade 4 maritime autonomy according to the IMOwith remote control, sensor management and system monitoring capabilities. It also includes automated decision making and platform control functions from shore stations, increasing the flexibility of USVs in real and simulated operations.
