Petrobras’ Búzios field marks a new record in oil production on February 24. Búzios, located in the Santos Basin, reached a historic production of 800 thousand barrels of oil per day. This achievement was made possible thanks to the recent addition of the FPSO Almirante Tamandaré , the largest floating production, storage and offloading unit in Brazil.

Búzios, a constantly expanding field that began operations in 2018, has established itself as one of the most productive fields in the Brazilian oil industry .

The impact of the Almirante Tamandaré FPSO
With the arrival of this gigantic platform, the production potential of Búzios has taken a significant leap. This FPSO has the capacity to process 225 thousand barrels of oil and 12 million cubic meters of gas per day.
Petrobras’ expectations are high, with the field projected to reach one million barrels per day in the coming months , with an ambitious target of reaching 1.5 million barrels by 2030.
