A leading global energy consultancy, Penspen, has been selected by United Living Infrastructure Services to lead the detailed engineering design of the CO₂ transport system for the HyNet North West project. This initiative, key to the decarbonization of the North West of England, is positioned as a centerpiece of the UK’s energy transition.

The project includes a network of pipeline network The project involves a network of onshore pipelines that will move industrial emissions from Stanlow to subway storage in Liverpool Bay, using both new and refurbished infrastructure. Penspen will be responsible for the design of the CO₂ pipelines and above ground installations known as AGI (Above Ground Installations), critical to ensure the safe flow of captured carbon.
