Orbital Materials has signed a multi-year strategic partnership with Amazon Web Services ( AWS ). This agreement aims to revolutionize decarbonization and operational efficiency in data centers.
Alliance between Orbital Materials and AWS
Orbital Materials uses its generative AI platform to design, synthesize, and test advanced materials that improve carbon removal and cooling technology in data centers. Since establishing its Princeton lab in 2024, the company has achieved a tenfold improvement in the performance of its materials, surpassing conventional trial-and-error techniques. By the end of 2025, these innovations are expected to be ready for large-scale testing.
[post_relacionado]The collaboration with AWS enables Orbital to leverage Amazon SageMaker HyperPod and AWS Trainium custom silicon, optimizing costs and scalability in training AI models. Additionally, Orbital’s open AI model, known as “ Orb ,” will be available on AWS Marketplace and Amazon SageMaker JumpStart, facilitating access to advanced tools for customers in sectors such as semiconductors, batteries, and electronics.

Amazon highlights the importance of this collaboration in pushing the boundaries of sustainability. AWS Energy & Utilities General Manager Howard Gefen said this joint effort will enable broader innovation in sustainability and efficiency.
