Finnish company Norsepower , a specialist in wind propulsion systems, has established a strategic alliance with Syroco to maximize energy efficiency in maritime transport. This collaboration seeks to integrate Rotor Sails technology with advanced digital systems, allowing commercial vessels to reduce fuel consumption.
Efficient navigation with technology from Norsepower and Syroco
The integration of wind propulsion with Syroco’s digital solutions has proven its effectiveness on board the tanker Alcyone , operated by Socatra . Through the use of a digital twin, Syroco has managed to simulate in real time the behaviour of the ship, considering factors such as wind resistance, ocean currents and hull configuration.

Syroco ’s approach consists of collecting meteorological and marine data, combining it with information from onboard sensors to generate predictive navigation models.
