FedEx has begun operating with sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) supplied by Neste (SAF) supplied by Neste at Los Angeles International Airport, setting a new course toward decarbonizing its U.S. air transportation network.

Since May 2025, Neste has begun delivering to FedEx a fuel blend that includes a minimum of 30% pure SAF. This partnership involves the supply of 8,800 metric tons, exceeding three million gallons, representing about 20% of the company’s annual fuel consumption at LAX. The agreement will remain in effect for one year.
