Naturgy, one of Spain’s leading multinational energy companies, has inaugurated its new wind farm in the province of Valladolid. With an investment of more than 40 million euros, the company has increased the number of wind farms it owns in Castilla y León to 30, consolidating its position as a benchmark in the region.
The Valverde wind farm is now operational
This park, called Valverde, has an installed capacity of 49.5 MW, which will allow it to generate 126 GWh of clean energy annually, equivalent to the electricity consumption of 40,000 homes. Its implementation will contribute to the reduction of polluting emissions, avoiding the release of more than 60,000 tons of CO2 per year and will boost the local economy by creating more than 350 jobs during the construction phase.
[post_relacionado]The positive impact of this project will extend beyond construction, as it will become a stable source of economic resources for the inhabitants of Villabrágima, the municipality that hosts the facility. The residents will benefit through the leasing of the land where the wind turbines are located, as well as from income derived from local taxes, such as the ICIO and the IAE.
With this new wind farm, Naturgy reaffirms its commitment to energy sustainability in Castilla y León. The company already has an installed capacity of 1,022 MW in the community, integrating various renewable energy sources such as wind, solar and hydraulic. In addition, Naturgy continues to invest in the hybridization of its wind installations with solar energy , a project that will add more than 341 additional MW in the region.
