On September 1, the tranquility of the waters off Tanah Merah, Singapore, was disturbed by a maritime incident involving two major vessels: the Singapore-flagged tanker Marine Dynamo and the Maltese-flagged bulk carrier Flag Gangos. The collision occurred about 8 kilometers offshore, causing no disruption to general navigation.
Ship-to-ship collision and fuel spill
As a result of the impact, the captain of the Marine Dynamo reported a marine diesel oil (MGO) spill. (MGO). The MPA confirmed the presence of light layers of this fuel in the water. Fortunately, this is a light type of fuel, similar to diesel fuel, which is expected to evaporate and dissolve quickly in the environment.

The Maritime Navigation Authority issued an alert to inform nearby vessels of the incident. The MPA is currently conducting a thorough investigation to determine the causes of the collision.
