Maersk has inaugurated its largest logistics park in the Middle East, at the Islamic Port of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Spanning 225,000m2 and with an investment of $250 million, this facility is the largest of its kind in the region, designed to offer advanced, integrated logistics integrated logistics solutions under one roof.
The opening ceremony was attended by senior officials, including Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, Engineer Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser and Maersk CEO Vincent Clerc. This logistics park reinforces Saudi Arabia’s position as a strategic hub in global trade routes and is aligned with the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030which seeks to diversify the country’s economy and boost its logistics sector.

[post_relacionado]The complex offers a range of logistics services, including multimodal connectivity between sea, land and air transport, temperature-controlled warehousing and customized solutions for various industries. In addition, Maersk has implemented several green initiatives at the park, such as the installation of 32,000 solar panels that will supply up to 70% of the electricity needed, contributing to its goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2040.
This development also includes a focus on workforce diversity, with the creation of an in-house academy for Saudi women, which will offer them specialized training in logistics and supply chain, opening up new opportunities in a traditionally male-dominated sector.
With modern, environmentally friendly infrastructure, the Maersk Logistics Park in Jeddah represents a significant advancement in the region’s ability to handle the growing volume of global trade, while contributing to the Kingdom’s sustainability and economic development goals.
