Hydraulic testing was recently successfully completed at Power Unit No. 1 at the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant in Bangladesh. This key phase, which reached a pressure of 24.5 MPa, verified the integrity and resilience of the primary circuit systems, bringing the project closer to the next major breakthrough: reactor hot testing.

Hydraulic testing is an essential part of the commissioning process for Bangladesh’s first nuclear power plant . With the support of Rosatom, Russia’s State Atomic Energy Corporation, exhaustive checks were carried out on systems and equipment, following rigorous international safety regulations.
[post_relacionado]During the process, the primary circuit was filled with water and the required pressures and temperatures were reached , ensuring that everything was aligned with design requirements and international safety standards. The testing process also included the implementation of an automated process control system to manage and monitor system parameters during testing.
The successfully completed tests confirm the high level of quality and safety of our project. This progress brings us closer to the next crucial phase: reactor hot testing.

The success of the hydraulic tests marks a significant step toward the hot test, which is crucial for verifying the reactor’s operational functionality under real-world conditions. During this phase, hot start tests will be performed on the reactor, ensuring its operational readiness for power generation.

The Rooppur nuclear power plant, which will house two VVER-1200 reactors, represents the future of clean and reliable energy generation for Bangladesh. With an installed capacity of 2,400 MW, the Rooppur plant will be one of the country’s most important sources of energy for decades to come. The plant is expected to begin generating electricity in the coming months, marking a major achievement in the history of nuclear energy in Asia.
The progress of hydraulic testing at Rooppur Unit 1 is further evidence of Rosatom’s commitment to safety and efficiency in its international projects.
