VoltAero began certification tests for the Cassio hybrid electric aircraft , which develops a hybrid electric propulsion system, intended to be used in the Cassio 330 , a five-seat aircraft. From its headquarters in Bayonne, France, in collaboration with Akira Technologies, this step represents a significant advance in its technological development.
Features of the Cassio hybrid electric aircraft
The Cassio 330 is equipped with a propulsion system that combines a Safran ENGINeUS 100 electric motor, which provides 180 kW, and a 150 kW Kawasaki thermal engine. The latter is an adaptation of the engine used in certain motorcycle models and offers a backup solution and extension of autonomy to the electrical system.

Future focuses of the company
The French company aims to achieve certification of the Cassio 330 by the end of 2025 . With a view to this goal, a new plant is in the process of being built in Rochefort, France, scheduled to open at the end of this year, where this model will be manufactured.
