Chinese company Robot Era has once again attracted attention with its latest technological achievement, this time in the Gobi Desert. The reason is that two Star1 humanoids , created by the company, participated in an unusual race that showed the incredible adaptability and precision of these robots .
A Star1 humanoid ran “barefoot”
During the race, one of the robots ran “barefoot” while its opponent wore a pair of sneakers. Despite starting at a disadvantage, the shod humanoid managed to reach 3.6 meters per second (8 mph) , winning the race after 34 minutes of challenging terrain on rocky terrain and winding paths.

The event also comes just after the company secured nearly 300 million yuan in its pre-Series A funding round, which is fueling the development of its robot line.
Robot Era has been drawing attention for its highly advanced humanoid robots powered by 400 Nm motors, high-speed AI systems and advanced communication modules. Star1 stands 1.71 meters tall, weighs 65 Kg and has been designed to tackle tough terrain.
This demonstration is not just for show, but part of Robot Era’s strategy to position itself in the growing and lucrative global humanoid robot market. With its recent funding, the company is preparing to expand its production and continue to innovate in the field of robotics.
