A humanoid robot that “breaks records” with dexterity
An impressive performance of the improved version of its humanoid robot, reaching a linear walking speed of 7.38 mph (3.3 m/s) on a flat surface, surpassing previous recorded marks in robotics.

An improved version of Unitree’s H1
Founded in 2017 and headquartered in Hangzhou, Shanghai, Unitree Robotics aims to normalize and introduce robotics into the everyday lives of Asian families, seeking to make it as accessible and commonplace, like today’s camera accessories, drones and smartphones.
Another example is the recent version of the Go2 quadcopter, which has a base price of $1,600. The enhanced H1 V3.0 demonstrated a wide range of dynamic movements in a video demonstration, including the ability to move fluidly, arms, legs and torso.
These new enhancements allow you to execute a choreographed dance routine, evaluate common routes and plot those that are favorable, demonstrating your autonomous capabilities.
A notable aspect of the H1 is its ability to jump, thanks to its powerful actuators, highlighting the efficiency and power of its design within the V3.0 framework.
The new version of the H1 is equipped with improvements in its dynamic movement capabilities, allowing it to turn and climb stairs with ease, as well as maneuver in tight spaces, facilitating its integration into human contexts and showing a significant advance in its functionality.
Technical highlights
Unitree’s H1 humanoid robot is approximately 71 inches (1800 mm) tall, weighs close to 100 pounds (47 kg) and features an internally developed gear train and high-torque motor, plus a 15 Ah battery with a capacity of 0.863 kWh.
In addition, it is equipped with a depth camera and a 3D LiDAR sensor, the H1 has five degrees of freedom (DOF) in the leg joints and four in the arms, giving it remarkable versatility in its mobility.
A curious detail that we can find in the first versions of the robot is the absence of hands. Instead, they have a padded bulge at the end of their arms for frequent interactions. The company has explained that the future, it plans to implement hands.
Another model is Unitree’s B1 robot, which has also shown the potential of artificial intelligence applications, with advanced recognition devices that enable accurate and real-time energy assessments, such as the use of 3D LiDAR, which helps to optimize control and management in future robot projects.
