The Indian shipping company Great Eastern Shipping Company Limited (G E Shipping) has confirmed the acquisition of a new bulk carrier, a bulk carrier Kamsarmax-type dry bulk carrier with a capacity of 81,922 deadweight tons (DWT), built in 2016. This purchase is part of its sustained growth strategy in bulk cargo transportation.
The new vessel will join the company’s fleet in the third quarter of fiscal 2026. This acquisition is not isolated: in July and August the company also contracted the purchase of another second-hand Kamsarmax and a Suezmax-type tanker, respectively. These additions will bring the total fleet to 41 vessels.
The financing of the bulk carrier Kamsarmax
[post_relacionado]This operation will be financed through the company’s internal resources. G E Shipping has maintained a self-financing policy in its acquisitions, which allows it to maintain efficient control of its assets and liabilities.
Currently, the fleet is composed of 38 vessels, including 26 tankers (crude, product and LPG) and 12 dry bulk carriers, reaching a total capacity of 3.04 million DWT. With the arrival of the three new vessels, that figure will grow to 3.37 million DWT.
The acquisition of Kamsarmax vessels allows G E Shipping to strengthen its presence in the high-capacity bulk carrier segment, adapting to the current demands of the international commodities trade. The efficient use of its units and close to 100% utilization reinforce its consolidation and growth strategy in the global market.
