This summer, San Francisco Bay Ferry and a consortium of public and private sector partners launched the Sea Change Ferry, the world’s first commercial passenger ferry to be powered entirely by hydrogen fuel cells. This makes San Francisco Bay a witness to progress against the climate crisis.

With a 75-passenger capacity and an integrated Zero Emission Industries power system, the Sea Change is capable of reaching a top speed of 15 knots. This ferry symbolizes a crucial transformation in maritime transportation and highlights California’s commitment to the fight against climate change.
