The Texas LNG project has received a boost with the recent decision of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). FERC has reissued the Final Order authorizing construction and operation of the project, in addition to approving its construction schedule. The approval came early, three months ahead of the originally scheduled publication date.

The LNG export plant, a subsidiary of Glenfarne Group, will be located at the Port of Brownsville.a subsidiary of Glenfarne Group, will be located at the Port of Brownsville. With the regulatory authorization in place, the company expects to obtain the Final Investment Decision (FID) by the end of the year. The approved construction schedule calls for the project to be completed by November 2029.
[post_relacionado]Brendan Duval, Glenfarne’s CEO and founder, said the project is moving ahead quickly. He also mentioned that FERC’s approval, finalized ahead of schedule, significantly boosts its progress in the second half of the year. Duval also thanked the members, FERC commissioners and the Texas congressional delegation for their work and support of energy policies.
The news also indicates that Texas LNG has secured purchase commitments with customers, with a sufficient volume to achieve the FID. The engineering, procurement and construction of the project are in charge of the company Kiewit, under a turnkey structure.
Obtaining this final license is the most recent step for Glenfarne’s LNG portfolio, which holds federal authorization for 32.8 million tons per year. The portfolio also includes the Alaska LNG project and the Magnolia LNG project.
