Ocean Winds has achieved a crucial breakthrough in its BC-Wind project, an offshore wind offshore wind farm located in the Baltic Sea. The company, formed by EDP Renováveis and ENGIE, received environmental authorization for the transmission infrastructure that will connect the wind farm to Poland’s National Electric System.
The environmental impact report, prepared by MEWO together with Geomor and Marea Sp. z o.o., was critical to this approval. The document comprehensively detailed both the onshore and offshore components of the project. In addition, archaeological studies of the seabed were conducted to ensure the feasibility of the subsea cabling.
