The recent partnership between Solarig and Tesla aims to make the Spanish company a Certified Service Provider, providing assurance for battery energy storage systems (BESS) in Chile.

Strengthening storage infrastructure at Solarig and Tesla

Under the terms of this collaboration, Solarig takes responsibility for monitoring the performance indicators of Tesla’s Megapack 2 XL. This technology represents the cutting edge in capacity and reliability in the global energy market.

The commitment involves meticulous management to ensure the infrastructure responds precisely to the demands of the national power system, where the intermittency of solar and wind sources requires robust and efficient backup solutions.

Likewise, this move strengthens Solarig’s dominance in asset management across Latin America. With a portfolio reaching 15 GW globally—nearly 8 GW of which is located in Latin America—the company demonstrates its ability to scale highly complex operations.

With more than a decade of experience in Chile, managing nearly 3 GW in high-voltage assets and photovoltaic plants, it has the authority needed to manage Tesla’s systems to international standards of excellence.

Solarig’s Director of Operations and Maintenance in Latin America, Manuel Macías, has highlighted the importance of collaborating with the most advanced technology manufacturer in the sector. The organization’s goal is to strengthen these ties with top-tier suppliers to replicate the model in other markets such as Peru and Mexico.

Advanced analytics and process digitalization are the pillars that enable Solarig to position itself as a leading independent asset manager worldwide, according to data from consultancies such as Wood Mackenzie.

Meanwhile, Tesla continues to expand its operational footprint, which now exceeds 47 GWh globally. The deployment of Megapack in more than 65 countries supports Solarig’s decision to integrate this technical support into its portfolio of local services.
