Iberdrola eleva un 7,5% su energía distribuida

The increase in energy demand and progress in electrification have led Iberdrola to distribute 255,976 GWh worldwide in 2025, representing a growth of 7.5% over the previous year. The company is thus consolidating its key role in the global energy transition.

One of the factors explaining the remarkable growth in distribution is the contribution of Electricity North West in the United Kingdom. This market recorded an increase of 52.2% in distributed energy, consolidating the country as one of the main sources of expansion for the Basque energy company.

Iberdrola expands wind and storage capacity

In parallel, Iberdrola’s installed capacity increased by 3.2% in 2025, reaching a total of 58,343 megawatts. Of this figure, 40.5% comes from wind power, both onshore and offshore. Hydroelectric power accounts for 22% and solar for 15%.

One of the keys to this sustained growth has been the development of battery storage projects, with an installed capacity of 683 MW. These infrastructures are deployed in strategic markets such as Australia, Spain and the United Kingdom, supporting the efficient management of renewable energies.

Regional expansion of energy infrastructure

The Iberdrola Energía Internacional division had an increase of 19%, thanks to new plants in Australia. The United Kingdom also improved its installed capacity by 8%, while in the United States there was a 5% growth.

This outlook confirms the company’s global strategy focused on sustainable infrastructure and diversified regional growth.
