In a recent interview, Josep Marca, Global Marketing Manager for Nalco Water , an Ecolab company, discussed the company’s progress in integrating advanced corrosion control technology into refining and petrochemical systems at the AMPP 2025 event in Nashville.

During the interview, Marca explained the company’s approach to developing Pathfinder , its corrosion mitigation program for crude oil systems . This program involves the integration of various chemicals such as corrosion neutralizers and inhibitors. The new solution employs cutting-edge chemicals and incorporates automation with a digital approach to maximize the value offered to customers.
[post_relacionado]Furthermore, the system has the ability to perform real-time simulations, using modeling software that continuously connects to clients’ distributed control systems ( DCS ).
This platform operates 24/7 , sending information to the cloud to perform precise calculations and recommendations on chemical usage, enabling up to 300 simulations per day. According to Marca, this advancement has improved the way customers receive and manage information, moving from a model of daily updates to a constant, detailed view of their systems’ status.
The implementation of this technology is relatively new for the company, with some already using the new solution, and it is expected to be commercially available before the end of this year. The feedback received so far has been very positive, with several customers expressing interest in implementing this technology in other refining facilities.
