Moeve and RFOcean have signed an agreement to build a new generation of highly efficient chemical tankers, scheduled for delivery between 2025 and 2026. These vessels will be equipped with advanced technology that will increase transport safety and reduce emissions.

The new 6,600 dwt IMO2 vessels will be fitted with stainless steel cargo tanks and will be methanol-ready. Their electric propulsion system, powered by generators rather than fuel engines, will allow for adjustable operating speed and the use of a variety of energy sources, including biofuels . In addition, the design facilitates the future integration of fuel cells or battery-powered electric generators, consolidating their green profile.
[post_relacionado]These vessels will offer a 30% saving in fuel consumption compared to other fleets. They will also be certified to ice class 1A, ensuring operability in extreme weather conditions and increasing their commercial versatility.
With this initiative, Moeve reaffirms its commitment to reducing the carbon footprint of maritime transport. The company produces more than one million tons of biofuels, and seeks to double its capacity to 2.5 million tons by 2030. In addition, it is participating in the development of the Green Hydrogen Valley in Andalusia, where it plans to build two green hydrogen production plants with a combined capacity of 2 GW, including facilities for the production of green ammonia and methanol .
