KOTUG International has been selected to provide critical marine services for ENI Congo’s LNG project , a major liquefied natural gas (LNG) development located off the coast of the Republic of Congo.
KOTUG’s advanced maritime services
This project includes the Tango floating liquefied natural gas unit and the Excalibur floating storage unit, in addition to a second floating LNG unit currently under construction. Under the contract, KOTUG will deploy three Rotortugs, state-of-the-art tugs with a patented triangular propulsion design, which will support multiple operations required by the company.

Major systems include mooring and unmooring of vessels, handling of mooring equipment, standby services, pilot transport, pollution control, as well as transportation of goods and passengers from the oilfield. KOTUG Rotortugs offer more than 80 tons of fixed term pull, are designed to ensure precise maneuverability and increased safety in all operational circumstances.
ENI’s LNG project
KOTUG has expressed its dedication to maximizing its collaboration in this project through close relationships with local suppliers and the use of Congolese goods and services. This initiative will boost job creation and promote the training of Congolese citizens, contributing positively to the development of the region.
The Congo LNG project, implemented with a zero-fuel technology approach to reduce methane emissions, has methane emissions. The first phase of the project is already underway with the Tango FLNG unit, which started production in February 2024. And finally, the second phase will include the installation of an offshore FLNG unit, further expanding the project’s capabilities.
