Fugro and Atlantic Shores have successfully completed an extensive four-year program of ongoing studies in New Jersey and New York. This effort focused on the detailed evaluation of five projects in three lease areas, covering a total of 1000 km². As a result of this work, Atlantic Shores has secured federal approval for its Atlantic Shores South project, which will provide 2,800 MW of clean energy to New Jersey.
Fugro and Atlantic Shores optimize data collection
Fugro and Atlantic Shores adopted a new approach to data collection and management, achieving a 30% improvement in survey efficiency. Traditionally, data collection for offshore wind offshore wind projects required multiple independent campaigns to gather oceanographic, seafloor, soil and habitat information. However, Fugro consolidated these processes into a single integrated program, aligned with Atlantic Shores’ portfolio strategy.
[post_relacionado]To handle the vast volumes of data generated (over 100 TB), Fugro developed the Fugro VirGeo platform, a cloud-based solution that allows stakeholders to access project information in real time.
This tool facilitated rapid decision making in the field and in the office and enabled the delivery of digital results to federal regulators, complementing traditional physical reports and speeding up the approval process.
Energy transition with high safety standards

During these four years, Fugro also achieved compliance with Atlantic Shores’ stringent “Goal Zero” safety standard. Atlantic Shoresensuring the protection of both personnel and the environment. This achievement was made possible through collaboration with local subcontractors such as Alpine and ST Hudson Engineers, supporting Atlantic Shores’ commitment to job creation in New Jersey.
