Deutsche ReGas has been one of the companies selected by the European Commission to receive financial support in the framework of cross-border green hydrogen projects. green hydrogen. The company, which will operate from the coastal town of Lubmin, will receive funding of 112 million euros to build an electrolysis plant for the production of hydrogen from renewable sources.
The initiative is part of a larger support package of EUR 992 million distributed among 15 projects in five European countries. All of them are aimed at hydrogen production with clean technologies and thus contribute to the reduction of emissions in carbon-intensive industrial sectors.
Lubmin to be key site for electrolysis plant

Ingo Wagner, managing partner of Deutsche ReGas, underlined the relevance of this financial backing: “This support confirms our vision for Lubmin and demonstrates the team’s ability to execute large-scale projects in the region”.
The project has a five-year horizon for completing the infrastructure and starting production. The company anticipates environmental benefits as well as an economic and technological boost for Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
