In March 2025, EEW Special Pipe Constructions (EEW SPC) successfully completed the first of 12 shipments destined for the impressive Thor project , located on the west coast of Jutland, Denmark. This wind farm will be the largest of its kind in the country, with a capacity of 1.1 GW, capable of supplying over one million homes with renewable energy .

To date, EEW SPC has delivered 15 of the 36 monopiles required to support the offshore wind turbines . These monopiles, which measure 82 meters in length and weigh 1,300 tons each, feature their innovative transition piece (TP)-free design, allowing the towers to be mounted directly onto the support bases, eliminating the need for additional elements.
[post_relacionado]The delivery and loading of these monopiles are underway at the Port of Rostock, with the goal of completing the remaining shipments by mid-2025 . This progress marks a significant milestone in the construction of the wind farm , which is expected to be fully operational by 2027.
The RWE-backed Thor wind farm will be a key component of Denmark’s energy transition, helping the country achieve its sustainability goals while contributing to the supply of clean, reliable electricity.
