Constellation and Petrobras have signed contracts worth a total of US$1.027 billion for the contracting of two high-specification drillships. These vessels, named Laguna Star and Tidal Action , will be used for drilling and extraction of wells in the Roncador field , located in the Campos Basin, Brazil.
Constellation and Petrobras’ alliance strengthens
With a contract term of two and a half years for each unit, operations will begin in 2025. The drillships will be essential for the development of production in this ultra-deepwater field , where wells will be drilled at depths ranging from 1,200 to 2,000 meters.
[post_relacionado]In addition to their advanced technological capabilities, these contracts include a minimum commitment of 30% local content, which reinforces the development of the national industry. Both companies estimate that this campaign will generate 250 direct and indirect jobs in the operation of the Tidal Action and will maintain another 250 jobs in the Laguna Star .
The vessels are equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including remotely operated vehicles ( ROVs ) and emergency response systems, allowing them to perform subsea well drilling, intervention and maintenance tasks with great precision and efficiency.
Ultra-deepwater exploration
The Roncador field is one of the most important in the Campos basin, and its development is important for Petrobras’ production strategy. The company continues to invest in technologies and contracts that ensure efficiency and safety of offshore operations, on its agenda for the future.
