SolarBank, a leading solar energy developer, has entered into a collaboration with TriMac Engineering, a Canadian engineering consultancy, to advance a portfolio of 31 MW of community solar projects in eastern Nova Scotia, Canada.
This ambitious project is divided into four parts: a 10 MW project in the rural community of Enon and three 7 MW projects distributed in Sydney, Halifax and Annapolis.

The company recently obtained a lease in New York State to develop 30 MW of community solar, a project that could benefit from incentives from the NY-Sun program, managed by the New State Energy Research and Development Authority. The NY-Sun program aims to foster 10 GW of distributed solar energy by 2030 . This initiative is part of the state’s latest distributed solar energy strategies, driven by Governor Kathy Hochul’s policies, which seek to expedite permitting for community solar energy projects announced earlier this year.
