During its first participation in the SLOM 2025 event, Coteso Industrial Solutions presented a proposal focused on the use of recycled aluminum and technical innovation applied to hydrocarbon storage. Frank Tewari, Managing Director of the company, shared how its solutions are aimed at improving efficiency and reducing operational risks through the use of technologies such as internal floating roofs and prefabricated domes.
Invited by ENAP Chile, one of its main customers in the region, Coteso considered its presence at the event as an opportunity to establish technical and commercial relations with terminal operators and managers.
Recycled aluminum as the technical and operational backbone
One of the company’s most relevant contributions is related to the implementation of recycled aluminum structures in storage tanks. This material, in addition to being lighter than steel, prevents corrosion and considerably reduces carbon emissions. Tewari explained that most terminal fires are linked to flammable vapors, so minimizing emissions also means reducing risks.
Coteso obtains its aluminum from one of the world’s largest producers, guaranteeing that more than 90% of the material used comes from recycled sources. This choice makes it possible to offer products with a service life exceeding 20 years, which reduces the frequency of maintenance interventions and the associated environmental impact.
Standardization and traceability in LATAM
The company has offices in Chile, Panama and Costa Rica, as well as agents and distributors throughout the region. During the interview, Tewari highlighted that one of the main challenges in Latin America is the lack of technological standardization in the different terminals; to address this situation, the organization promotes technical seminars and knowledge transfer sessions based on its global experience.
At the operational level, the company applies rigorous controls in its supply chain through audits and international certifications such as ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001. Each component delivered includes detailed documentation that allows tracing its origin, testing and inspections.
Commitment to safety and efficiency
Since its founding, Coteso has been committed to technical solutions that balance efficiency, safety and environmental responsibility. The seals, internal roofs and structures developed by the company are designed to improve tank performance without compromising the integrity of the stored product.
In addition to reducing fire hazards, selected materials such as recycled aluminum allow for faster installation and significantly longer service life compared to traditional alternatives.
Proximity to the customer and vision for the future
Tewari concluded the interview with an open invitation to terminal operators who would like to learn more about his solutions. He stated that Coteso will continue to participate in future editions of SLOM as part of its strategy of expansion and technical proximity to the region.
