During the SLOM conference held in Panama, representatives from Trelleborg Oil & Marine shared the company’s latest advances in solutions for terminals and port operations, highlighting its commitment to safety, operational efficiency and sustainability.

From its plant in Clermont-Ferrand, France, Trelleborg has been manufacturing marine hoses since the 1970s and has established itself as a pioneer in the development of nipple-free hoses, a unique technology that offers benefits such as lower weight, greater flexibility and reduced operational risks, improving the safety of terminal and vessel maneuvers.

By implementing Trelleborg’s double casing design with flexible steel cords, the problem was solved immediately, optimizing the continuity of operations.
For his part, Jonathan emphasized that the lightweight, nipple-free construction of the hoses not only facilitates the work of the operators, but also reduces the risk of accidents, contributing to the reduction of downtime at docks and storage centers.
The company has succeeded in reducing its CO₂ emissions and distinguishes itself in the market by manufacturing its hoses mainly with. natural rubbera renewable material that contributes to reducing environmental impact.
The company is also actively working on the substitution of chemical additives, the reuse of hoses in new applications and end-of-life recycling programs, thus integrating circular economy practices at the manufacturing and operational levels.
