The steel cutting ceremony of the Yara Eyde has recorded the official start of construction of what will be the world’s first container ship powered by renewable ammonia, driven by Yara Clean Ammonia, Yara International, CMB.TECH and North Sea Container Line.

The Yara Eyde will operate on the Oslo-Porsgrunn-Bremerhaven-Rotterdam route, connecting industrial clusters through a carbon-free logistics solution. With this initiative, its promoters are seeking to demonstrate the potential of ammonia as a clean and efficient fuel, especially in short-haul operations.
