With the award of a new contract in Taiwan, SPIE Wind Connect consolidates its strategic role in the development of offshore wind energy in Asia. The specialized subsidiary of SPIE Global Services Energy will execute the installation and testing of the interarray subsea cables(IAC) in Phase II of the Taiwan Power Company(TPC) wind farm, a project that seeks to expand the country’s sustainable energy capacity.
Offshore wind farm and expansion off the coast of Changhua
Located 20 kilometers off the coast of Changhua, the TPC II project involves the connection of 31 Vestas V174 9.5 MW wind turbines to an offshore substation via IAC cables.

Following its successful participation in Phase I of the same wind farm, SPIE Wind Connect has been selected by Shinfox Far East Energy(SFE) as a strategic partner to carry out this new phase. SPIE’s choice responds to its track record in high voltage technical solutions and its operational capacity in Asia.
The development of TPC II boosts the farm’s total generation to more than 1,350 GWh annually. This progress reflects Taiwan’s commitment to energy sustainability goals outlined for 2035, backed by strategic wind resources and robust long-term planning.
