Envision Energy has succeeded in enabling its prototype two-bladed wind turbine to maintain stable operation for more than 500 consecutive days. With an availability of 99.3 %, a mean time between failures of 2,444 hours and an equivalent annual total of 3,048 hours at full load, the company has demonstrated that this design can match traditional three-blade designs.

The model is based on the Model X land platform, integrating a high-speed DFIG generator and a modular design. These features optimize performance and, at the same time, improve transportability by reducing deployment costs in logistics-critical environments.

Using a multi-degree-of-freedom load bench, essential parameters were evaluated to ensure structural stability and energy efficiency in real-world scenarios.
The company’s experience with this type of technology dates back to 2012, when it developed a 3.6 MW two-bladed marine turbine at its innovation center in Denmark. More than a decade of research and testing has led to this land-based prototype, as a possible alternative established in projects that prioritize cost-effectiveness and agility of deployment.
