This week, four jackets built at Navantia Seanergies ‘ facilities in Fene, Galicia, set sail for the English Channel as part of the Dieppe Le Tréport offshore project. These metallic structures, essential as bases for the wind turbines, are part of a total order of 62 units that will be installed 15 km from Le Tréport and 17 km from Dieppe, in French waters.
The first jackets manufactured in Spain
The project is led by the Les Éoliennes en Mer consortium, in which OW Ocean Winds participates together with Sumitomo Corporation and Banque des Territoires. The operation strengthens the industrial links between Spain and France in the energy transition, highlighting the role of Spanish engineering in the development of clean energy.
[post_relacionado]The jackets were manufactured by Navantia Seanergies and Windar Renovables in Fene, while the pin piles that will fix them to the seabed were produced in Avilés. The complex logistical operation included loading in port, securing and preparation for sea transport, demonstrating the technical and organizational capacity of both companies.
In addition to the 62 jackets, the contract includes the structure of the offshore electrical substation, whose base was manufactured at the Puerto Real shipyard. This component will be important for the transmission of energy generated by the wind farm to the mainland.
Previous collaboration has borne fruit in projects such as Moray East and Moray West in the United Kingdom, as well as the WindFloat Atlantic floating platforms. The current delivery to OW Ocean Winds consolidates a strategic relationship that has allowed the Spanish industry to position itself as a reference supplier in the European offshore wind market.
